Russia Says Ukrainian Drone Strike on Bus in Donetsk Kills Seven

(MENAFN) According to reports, Russian authorities have claimed that a Ukrainian drone struck a passenger bus traveling from Moscow to Simferopol in the Russian-controlled city of Yenakiyeve in the Donetsk region, resulting in seven deaths and 11 injuries.

Denis Pushilin, the Moscow-installed regional head, expressed condolences to the victims’ families and wished the injured a speedy recovery in a statement shared on Telegram.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova described the incident as a “human hunt,” according to state media reports. She also claimed that civilians were being targeted through what she characterized as militant tactics, including forced mobilization, though these statements could not be independently verified.

Meanwhile, Russia’s Defense Ministry reported that it intercepted 354 Ukrainian drones overnight across various regions of the country.

In contrast, Ukrainian military officials stated that Russia launched 198 drones during the same period, with most reportedly intercepted or neutralized.

Separately, regional Ukrainian officials reported continued Russian shelling across multiple areas. In Kherson, one person was killed and six others injured, according to Governor Oleksandr Prokudin.

In the Odesa region, Governor Oleh Kiper said two civilians were injured in overnight strikes, while in Kharkiv region, officials reported five additional injuries following morning shelling.

As with previous exchanges, claims from both sides could not be independently verified due to the ongoing conflict.
