Fifth body gets recovered from Ulsan power plant collapse in S. Korea

(MENAFN) South Korean rescuers have recovered a fifth body from the rubble of a collapsed boiler tower at a thermal power plant in the southeastern city of Ulsan, local media reported.

The recovery came after controlled demolitions of two additional boiler towers on Tuesday, operations carried out to aid in the search for the three workers still missing following last Thursday’s collapse of the No. 5 tower. The collapse trapped seven workers in total.

So far, five bodies have been retrieved, while two workers remain unaccounted for. Fire officials said that one of the missing workers has been located but is presumed dead. Authorities continue rescue efforts as they assess the wreckage for any signs of the remaining personnel.
