South Africa’s Ambassador to France Dies After Falling from 22nd Floor

(MENAFN) The South African ambassador to France, Nkosinathi Emmanuel Mthethwa, was tragically found dead outside a hotel in Paris on Tuesday, after reportedly falling from the 22nd floor. The discovery followed his disappearance a day earlier, with French media outlets confirming the development.

Mthethwa, 58, was located outside the Hyatt Hotel, a popular luxury accommodation in central Paris. Prosecutors, speaking to media, confirmed the diplomat’s death, but have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident. While initial reports suggest that Mthethwa may have jumped from the building’s high-rise floor, officials are working to determine whether foul play or other factors may have been involved.

As of now, the South African Embassy in Paris has yet to release a formal statement regarding the incident, leaving many questions unanswered. Mthethwa, who had been reported missing on Monday, was a prominent figure in diplomatic circles and had served as South Africa's ambassador to France for several years.

The investigation is ongoing, with French authorities continuing to examine the scene and gather evidence.
