Yildiz Brace Propels Juventus to Victory Over Wydad

(MENAFN) Juventus clinched a 4–1 triumph against Morocco’s Wydad in the Club World Cup on Sunday, their success fueled by a dazzling display from Turkish winger Kenan Yildiz.

The Group G encounter took place at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, United States, matching the section’s pace-setters Juventus with Wydad, who had previously fallen 2-0 to Manchester City.

The Italian side drew first blood in the sixth minute when a strike by Yildiz ricocheted off defender Ayoub Boutouil and crossed the line, an incident FIFA recorded as an own goal.

Yildiz doubled the cushion ten minutes later with an assured finish inside the area, but Wydad halved the deficit in the 25th minute through Thembinkosi Lorch, making it 2-1.

Midway through the second half, the 19-year-old winger coolly struck again in the 69th minute to restore Juventus’ two-goal buffer, and Serbian striker Dusan Vlahovic sealed matters with a penalty deep into stoppage time.

Yildiz’s brace and overall influence earned him the “Player of the Match” distinction as Juventus advanced to the next stage of the tournament.
